Best Gluten free chips

Hi Y'all! Hope you are all staying cool. Its hot as_____ here is LA this week and worse in Topanga! 107 degrees!? WHAT!? All I can say is thank heavens for friends with AC that allow for sleepovers.

On a completely unrelated topic, I LOVE these gluten free chips. like ALOT, Think of them like a healthy dorito. You can find them at any health food store.

East Fruit Cobbler

Our weekly produce box has been chocked full of peaches and plums for the past month and, to tell you the truth, I am getting a little sick of them. After all, 2 people can only eat so many plums.

So I decided that I'd make a cobber and after a quick google search, I found this recipe.
Of course,  I did some alterations since I didn't have all the ingredients and i am not into super sweet desserts.

Here is what I changed --->

  • 1 cup of sugar instead of 2
  • Almond milk instead of regular
  • 4 cups of mixed fruit (2 large peaches and 4 plums)
It turned out AMAZING!  Sergio and I ate almost the entire thing in one night so if you don't have self control, I'd recommend making it for a party or your family.

Best Summer Iced Tea

Happy Summer, party people! Is it blazing hot where you are?? Its 97 here on the mountain today...but 85 in the RV thanks to shade and a swamp cooler.

Ive been making this lavender chamomile iced tea daily and it is SO refreshing and cooling!  Plus, it has alot of healing properties too (just read the box!) I make it in a large jar with one tea bag steeped for 10minutes and it is perfect.

good weekend, good friends

Hi Y'all! I had a great weekend- birthday party, sleepover, and then brunch the next day! My friend lives in a sweet little house that is walking distance to all the stores and restraunts on Melrose/ Santa Monica blvd. And although I am not into city living right now, Ill admit that it was really great fun walking up Melrose in search of the perfect breakfast spot with some of my faves. I hope you are having great summer as well!

Vegan Alfredo Sauce

I'm not sure how I've never blogged about this recipe before since it is one of my FAVES (maybe I never got a good photo?? lol.)   I modified this from my Kale Chip recipe and use it for pasta, veggies, sandwich spread, dip....or you can go crazy and just eat it with a spoon. That's how delicious it is!!

1 cup raw cashews
1 cup water
1/4 nutritional yeast
1/4 braggs amino acid (or soy sauce)
1 stalk of green onion (green and white part)
3 cloves of garlic
1 tsp of smoked paprika
2 tbsp sun dried tomatoes

Blend all ingredients in high powered blender or food processor ( I use a Vitamix) until creamy.
Add half the water at first and then slowly add the rest  until you have a consistency similar to hummus. Add more water if its too thick.  also, red pepper flakes will add some spice if you are into that.
cashew cheese. yum

organic loval veggies

rainbow pasta

last night I sauteed these veggies in coconut oil with capers and mixed with pasta and cheese sauce.
it was perfection!
